SUSTAINABILITY
Resource-efficient buildings for a healthier tomorrow
LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) provides a framework that development teams can apply to create, highly efficient, healthy and cost-effective green buildings.
A LEED certification offers independent verification of a building’s green features, including design, construction, operations, and maintenance of a resource-efficient and high performing working space. These features not only reduce operational costs, but also ensure the greatest health benefits for building occupants and the environment.
Globally recognized as the go to standard in Green Building Certification, The Quad Central is targeting a LEED PLATINUM rating, the highest accolade for Green Building sustainability achievement.
LEED Highlights for The Quad Central include:
- Targeting 92 certification points (Platinum certification 80 points and above). This would place The Quad Central amongst the top Green Buildings in Europe and the world.
- Projected use of 34% less energy than the ASHRAE 90.1-2007 baseline building performance; use of renewable energy will further decrease electricity load.
- Extensive water-saving strategies are being pursued, including low-water irrigation systems for landscaping and include the use of treated domestic water.
- Abundant use of natural finish materials and controlled natural daylight conditions.
